Recently, we partnered with a long-term client, Big Asia Supermarket, to deliver a successful grand opening for their new store in Cairns. The strategy was to create an intense buzz around Cairns, encouraging Western and Asian locals to sample some delicious groceries from across Asia.

The campaign included intense media coverage and advertising placements across radio networks such as Star 102.7FM and Cairns 89.1FM, complimented by ‘live’ interactive activities such as crowd- stimulating competitions.

Additionally, we organised outdoor billboards, road signs, social media advertising and coordinated the design and delivery of invites to some of Cairns’ most influential personalities.

With a ‘hard to miss’ campaign circulating the new store opening attracted approximately 700 attendees to the opening event, causing large queues of new customers to eagerly waiting to explore the new store. Throughout the day social media influencers, journalists, Councillors such as Amy Eden and even Mayor Terry James stopped by to see what all the buzz was about.

It was no surprise that the grand opening was front page news by Monday morning in the Cairns Post.

After the soaring success of the Big Asia store in Cairns, we have continued to support Big Asia with ongoing marketing to keep the brand front of mind.
